Making Sense Out of Suffering

Several years ago I came across a gem – the book, Making Sense Out of Suffering by Peter Kreeft (a professor of philosophy at Boston College).   He covers the "easy answers" (atheism, pantheism, etc), hints found in myths, literature (even "children's literature",like The Velveteen Rabbit, The Consolation of Philosophy by Boethius, etc.), world religions (Buddhism, Taoism, etc.) and resolution in the Answer rather than answers.   Professor Kreeft's use of Socratic dialogue - employed in several of his books - helps to make this book more conversational - "let's talk about it" - rather than just some kind of spiritual lecture or "feel good" book loaded with platitudes.   Mr. Kreeft joins us and walks with us through the tough questions.   I did not read this book in one sitting.  The content was so thought provoking that I purposely read slowly and looked forward to reading each and every chapter.
